Giorgia Palmas is an Italian television personality and model. She became famous following her appearances on the Italian television show Striscia la notizia.

Career
Palmas began her career in the year 2000, winning second place at Miss World, losing out to Miss India Priyanka Chopra. In 2001, she was in Buona Domenica, as a microfonina. In 2002, she won the television show Veline, becoming the brunette velina, in pair with Elena Barolo, the new blonde velina. For two television seasons, 2002/2003 and 2003/2004, she was a velina in Striscia la notizia, gaining her a lot of popularity. After leaving Striscia la notizia she appeared in Italia 1 summer edition of Lucignolo, with Elena Barolo. Jessica Cecchini is the winner of the Miss Universo Italia 2010 pageant that was held at the Teatro Antico Greco-Romano in Taormina, Sicilia on July 1, 2010. For the first time ever, the pageant streamed via webcast worldwide on twww.tv. Jessica beat out 27 other contestants and won the right to represent Italy at the Miss Universe 2010 pageant in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she failed to advance to the Top 15. No Italian woman has ever won the Miss Universe crown, but the number of semifinalists and finalists (including 1st runners-up Daniela Bianchi in 1960 and Roberta Capua in 1987) makes Italy statistically the most successful country never to have won the pageant.
