Miss World Philippines Gwendoline Ruais (others spell it as Gwendolyn Ruais) enters the Miss World 2011 Top 20 in the beach beauty competition held at Earls Court at London last Tuesday.

As noted at the Miss World official website on Wednesday, November 2, 2011, Gwendoline Ruais was chosen as among the ‘Top 20 beach beauty‘, which Miss World 2011 earlier had 36 candidates.

In addition, Gwendoline Ruais is among the Miss World 2011 Top 30 Presentations for Beauty with a Purpose, which focus on the humanitarian side of Miss World and aims to raise awareness and funds for charities worldwide.

According to her bio, Ruais, 21, who won the Miss World Philippines 2011 last September 18, is half-Filipino and half-French, and finished a Business Management degree last year, major in Marketing.

Ruais stands 5″10′ and is part of the Model United Nations Assembly, an academic simulation of the United Nations. She now ranks 15th in Missosology’s “Hot Picks” for the week of October 20.

Czarina Catherine Ramos Gatbonton is one of the three reigning Binibining Pilipinas 2010, and she represented the Philippines in the 60th edition of Miss World. Aside from winning the title Binibining Pilipinas-World, she was also the recipient of the Manila Bulletin Readers’ Choice Award.

She represented the Philippines in the 60th edition of Miss World in Sanya, China on October 30, 2010, but she was unplaced. Miss Philippines did not make the cut at Beach Beauty for the second time since 2009.

In 2011, she represented the Philippines in Miss Humanity International 2011 where she placed 2nd runner-up.

Biography
Danielle Kirsten Muriel Castaño  is a Filipino beauty queen, and represented the Philippines in the Miss World 2008 pageant. She was the crowd favorite in the Binibining Pilipinas 2008 pageant, winning five awards from the major sponsors and placing as 1st runner-up.

On October 2, 2008, she was appointed as the new official candidate of the Philippines to Miss World following the resignation of the original winner, Janina San Miguel.  Danielle place in the top 10 beach beauty finalists and placed among the top 32 Top Model competition during Miss World 2008.

Castaño grew up in Glendale, but later moved to Marikina City when she was 8yrs old. She left the Philippines to continue her studies in the U.S. when she was 12 yrs old. After high school she went back to the Philippines. She finished her secondary education in Herbert Hoover High School in California, United States where she was also part of the track and field and cross country varsity team.

Janina Miller San Miguel is a Filipino beauty queen who was crowned Binibining Pilipinas World at the Binibining Pilipinas 2008 beauty pageant. She gained notoriety for her performance in the pageant's question and answer portion, where she lost her composure and gave an unfocused and rambling response with a thick accent. A video of the incident has garnered millions of views on websites such as YouTube.

San Miguel resigned her title in September 2008, citing personal reasons including the death of her grandfather. The title was transferred to first runner up Danielle Castaño, who went on to represent the country at the Miss World 2008 pageant.

The 2008 Binibining Pilipinas pageant was held on March 8, 2008 at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Metro Manila. At seventeen years old, Janina San Miguel was the youngest contestant of the twenty-four women in the competition, as well as one of the tallest at 5 ft 11 in (180 cm). Early in the competition, San Miguel had won special awards for Best in Swimsuit and Best in Long Gown.
