Veruska Tatiana Ramírez is Miss Venezuela 1997, winner of the Best in Swimsuit award and first runner-up to Miss Universe 1998.
As the official representative of her country to the 1998 Miss Universe pageant held in Honolulu, Hawaii, she got the highest semifinal swimsuit score ever seen in the history of individualized judges' scores (1990 to 2001), a combined score of 9.855, and still holds the record for that time period. Hers was the third consecutive placement of Venezuela in the top 2; a record shared with Colombia(although Venezuela won the crown in one of those occasions). In the end, she placed first runner-up to eventual winner Wendy Fitzwilliam of Trinidad and Tobago.
