Unnur was crowned Miss World 2005 was held in Sanya, China on December 10, 2005. She has starred in the Higher Force in 2008 and Jóhannes in 2009. Then in 2011 Unnur entered a commercial model and she was featured in a new ad to promote The Blue Lagoon, a famous geothermal spa and tourist attraction in Iceland. As Master Ceremony Unnur has hosted the Miss Reykjavik 2010 pageant.
