Maria Jose Tula Barbis Portocarrero was born in 1996 in Peru. Height, 1.75 cm (5'8.9 in). She has a degree in film directing, she speaks perfect English and French. On August 14, 2019 she was crowned Miss International Peru 2019 and Maria represented Peru at the Miss International 2019 pageant that will be held on November 12 at the Municipal Hall of the Tokyo Dome, Tokyo, Japan. Although María José Barbis was not placed in the Top 15 but she did get the Continental queens award as Miss International America
